Vodafone Idea challenges DoT demand of Rs 2,774 crore, files writ petition in SC: Report
Vodafone Idea has approached the Supreme Court of India in a fresh writ petition. The company has challenged the calculation behind the revised AGR as per a report by CNBC-TV18. It has also asked for the additional tax demand by DoT for FY17 to be set aside, added the CNBC TV-18 report.
In the writ petition, Vodafone Idea has approached the Supreme Court to quash the Department of Telecom’s fresh tax demand of Rs 2,774 crore. The company said that the DoT’s fresh tax demand goes beyond the apex court’s previous ruling on Vodafone’s AGR dues.
