Opening Stargate to India: ChatGPT parent talks tieup with local firms
OpenAI is holding preliminary discussions with Indian data centre companies Sify Technologies, Yotta Data Services, E2E Networks and CtrlS Datacenters, as the artificial intelligence giant firms up plans to bring the $500 billion global joint venture supercomputing project, Stargate, to India, said people in the know.
The ChatGPT developer has also been holding parallel conversations with oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance Industries for more than six months, they said. Reliance plans to build the world’s largest data centre at Jamnagar in Gujarat.
