Tokyo Electron to set up office in Dholera and Assam to aid semicon projects
Tokyo Electron, which makes equipment for semiconductor production, is looking to set up offices at Dholera in Gujarat and in Assam to support Tata Electronics’ upcoming fab and assembly and test units, a senior executive at the Japanese company said.
“The schedule to set up our office in Dholera is aligned with Tata’s Dholera fab,” executive vice-president and general manager Takeshi Okubo told ET in an interview. “The timeline for us is reasonable to set up the infrastructure to support India’s first semiconductor fab. We also expect more developed or mature infrastructure to help us accelerate our support system.”
