India will command a major share of the $1 trillion semiconductor market in the next few years, and it is becoming a full-stack semiconductor nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Semicon India 2025 summit, Modi said while oil was called black gold, chips are now ‘digital diamonds’. The global semiconductor market is currently worth $600 billion.
