Maharashtra cyber police arrest key accused in 6 crore cyber fraud case from Nepal border

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Nodal Cyber Police arrested a key accused in a Rs 6 crore cyber fraud case while he was attempting to flee India to Nepal. The accused, Govind Bankaya Dantri alias Steve alias Honey Bhaiya alias Lucky alias Ashu Paji (40), was absconding since 2024, and was apprehended by immigration authorities at Raxaul, East Champaran, Bihar, near the Indo-Nepal border.

Police said Dantri is a prime conspirator in an offence registered last year after he, along with his accomplices, duped a 62-year-old retired chief engineer from Punjab of Rs 6 crore.
