Semiconductor IR detector manufacturing planned in Lucknow defence node

After BrahMos missiles, semiconductor infrared detectors, a highly sophisticated set of devices used for thermal imaging in darkness, could soon be manufactured at the defence corridor’s Lucknow node in Sarojininagar.

For this, Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is going to allot 10 hectares of land to Dehradun-based DRDO’s Instruments Research and Development Establishment without any cost for the manufacture of multi-sensor surveillance systems as well as opto-electrical equipment.
