Platforms misused for fraud, terror financing: Govt after introducing bill to ban real money gaming
IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw introduced the ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025’, which seeks to ban real money gaming, in Parliament on Wednesday.
Following the Bill’s introduction, the ministry of electronics and IT said in an official statement that the associated issues of addiction, financial losses, and even extreme consequences such as suicides can be prevented by prohibition of online real money gaming.
