BSNL rolls out anti-spam protection for mobile users

NEW DELHI: State-controlled telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Thursday began rolling out its network-driven anti-spam and anti-smishing protection for its over 9 crore mobile subscribers.

Smishing, a type of cyberattack, is leveraged by scammers to use text messages to lure unsuspecting users into revealing sensitive information that may lead to financial loss or even identity theft.
