Google stops funding of 214 groups, over 50 of them related to ‘diversity’ and ‘equity’: Report
Google has reportedly removed more than 50 diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)-related organisations from a public list of its most substantial funding recipients, according to a new report from tech watchdog group The Tech Transparency Project (TTP). The move comes as the company prioritises AI investments and navigates a legal landscape.
CNBC said that TTP’s report, which analysed the most recent public list of organisations funded by Google’s US Government Affairs and Public Policy team, found that the company purged a total of 214 groups while adding 101 new ones.
