BSNL working to deploy 4,000 towers in Naxalite-affected areas of Chhattisgarh: Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani
NEW DELHI: The Central government is planning to deploy 4,000 new towers of state-controlled Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in the Naxalite-affected areas of Chhattisgarh to strengthen digital communications, Minister of State for Rural Development and Telecommunications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani said at an event in Raipur on Sunday.
Pemmasani is on a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh to review central government schemes, including the Aspirational District programme, and projects under telecom and rural development ministries. He chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials of the Department of Rural Development, Department of Posts, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), and BSNL in Raipur.
