Meta CEO Zuckerberg to testify in $8 billion Facebook privacy lawsuit over Cambridge Analytica

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is expected to testify in a landmark $8 billion shareholder lawsuit this week. This is the same lawsuit which tied Facebook to the infamous Cambridge Analytics privacy breach. The trial for the lawsuit is already underway the Delaware Chancery Court. This lawsuit accuses Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other top executives of knowingly violating an FTC consent order passed in 2012 and failing to protect the user data.

The lawsuit items reveal that Facebook user data was used without their consent and it was used for political targeting by Cambridge Analytica. The firm was authorised to work during Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016.
