Cancelling Netflix, Amazon Prime memberships could get harder; here’s what might drive the change

A US federal appeals court has blocked a a major consumer protection rule that forces streaming platforms to simplify their cancellation processes.

The regulation, known as the “click to cancel” rule, was proposed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Of not blocked, it would need companies like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, and HBO Max to make cancelling subscriptions as simple as signing up.
