Social media must take more responsibility for content, says Ashwini Vaishnaw

Social media accountability is the dominant global sentiment and India “will be happy to change the legal framework” if a political and public consensus evolves, Ashwini Vaishnaw, minister for railways, electronics & IT, and I&B, said at an ET Roundtable in New Delhi. The country is creating a sustainable local electronics supply chain in a methodical manner, he added, dismissing concerns over China recalling its engineers from Foxconn facilities here. He also said the govt plans to operate 1,000 new trains in 5 years and has set a target to roll out commercial bullet train operations by 2027.
