Google I/O 2025 is underway and company CEO Sundar Pichai has made three consumer-centric major announcements. These initiatives, powered by Google’s Gemini AI models, include Google Beam (formerly Project Starline) updates and real-time speech translation in Google Meet; ‘better’ Project Astra coming as Gemini Live camera conversation, and Project Mariner — updates to agentic AI capabilities that can help users automate tasks — all powered by Google Gemini AI models.
