India lifts block on Global Times and TRT World X account, Xinhua handle still withheld

The ban on Global Times and TRT World was lifted within hours after India blocked their X (formerly Twitter) accounts for spreading misinformation. However, the Xinhua X handle remains withheld. These accounts were part of a broader crackdown.

The ban on TRT World’s X account was imposed after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) noted Turkey’s assistance to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, which India launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. However, the TRT website and Instagram handle remain accessible.
