In a swift effort to avoid the impact of fresh US tariffs, Apple shipped five planeloads of iPhones and other products from India to the United States over just three days, senior Indian officials confirmed to TOI’s Sidhartha. The shipments, made in the final week of March, came ahead of a 10% reciprocal tariff imposed by the Trump administration, which took effect on April 5.
