Coming soon: Karnataka plans 5% fee on online platforms Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber to fund gig worker welfare
Karnataka will soon collect a fee from online platforms on the commission they pay gig workers to fund social security and welfare schemes for them, reviving a bill the state had put on the backburner last year, after sections of ecommerce, ride-hailing, and delivery platforms resisted the move.
