Elon Musk gets ‘good news’ from UK’s Royal Society
Elon Musk will not face disciplinary action from the UK’s Royal Society. The academy said that taking action against the tech billionaire could damage the academy and science itself. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO was elected a fellow of the UK’s national academy of sciences in 2018. His election was apparently due to his work in the space and electric vehicle industries. However, over the past year, there have been calls for the academy to take action against Musk. These calls came from both fellows and the wider scientific community over concerns about Musk allegedly violating the academy’s code of conduct.
Royal Society’s code of conduct states that fellows shall “not act or fail to act in any way which would undermine the society’s mission or bring the society into disrepute”.
