UK Regulator: Apple and Google are the reason why innovation in mobile browsers is not working
The United Kingdom’s competition watchdog has concluded that Apple and Google are stifling innovation in the mobile browser market, with Apple’s policies bearing most of the blame according to a final report published Wednesday.
The Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) independent inquiry group found that the mobile browser market is “not working well for consumers and businesses,” identifying several anti-competitive practices by both tech giants that limit competition and potentially restrict economic growth.
