This feature protects users from “conversational text scams” that often begin with seemingly innocent messages but evolve into dangerous schemes. Google’s scam detection tool monitors SMS, MMS, and RCS messages in real-time, identifying suspicious patterns and alerting users with a warning when a potential scam is detected. Once a scam is flagged, users can quickly block or report the sender.
