PSN outage: Why PlayStation Network went down for 20 hours, how Sony will compensate PlayStation Plus members for it

Sony PlayStation Plus members will receive an automatic 5-day extension of service following a global outage that disrupted PlayStation Network (PSN) services for approximately 18 hours between Friday and Saturday, reports Reuters.

Sony on Sunday confirmed that network services were restored following the widespread disruption. However, it did not reveal the cause of the outage.
