Vodafone Idea partners with Blue Ribbon Bags to offer baggage protection for international roaming customers
Vodafone Idea (Vi) said on Monday that it has partnered with Blue Ribbon Bags to offer baggage protection service to its international roaming postpaid customers.
US-headquartered Blue Ribbon Bags is a lost baggage concierge service provider. Under the partnership, Vi postpaid customers can now avail of a compensation of Rs 19,800 per bag if their luggage is delayed or lost beyond 96 hours of filing a complaint, Vi said in a statement.
Citing a 2024 study by SITA, Vi said over 36 million bags were mishandled worldwide, highlighting growing concerns over baggage security. “The Baggage Protection service by Vi provides customers a safety net in the unfortunate event of lost or delayed baggage, making their travel experience worry-free,” the telco said.
Vi said its postpaid customers can activate the baggage protection service while purchasing any international roaming pack. This optional benefit is available at an additional cost of just Rs 99, and can be activated along with the pack. Customers who choose this benefit can raise a claim request via the Vi App if their baggage is lost or delayed. To avail this service, customers must register with Blue Ribbon Bags before their flight.
