Google rolls out new Gemini 2.0 AI models: What’s new for users, developers

Google is updating its Gemini AI chatbot with its second-generation AI models. As part of the update, the Gemini 2.0 Flash model is now available to all users, while an experimental version of the flagship Gemini 2.0 Pro model is rolling out for Gemini Advanced subscribers. Additionally, Google has introduced the Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite model, which it claims is its most cost-efficient AI model to date.

Google is also bringing its experimental Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking mode to the Gemini app. Introduced in December last year in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, this mode offers improved reasoning capabilities compared to the Gemini 2.0 Flash model.
