Netflix has reportedly removed transgender actress Karla Sofia Gascon from promotional materials for its Oscar-nominated film Emilia Perez. This comes a month ahead of the 97th Academy Awards. Several users on social media platforms like X/Twitter and Reddit noted that the streamer appeared to be downplaying Gascon’s presence in their Oscar campaign for the film.
