Airtel revises Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 prepaid plans: Here’s what’s changing

Airtel has reviewed two of its prepaid recharge plans, likely in response to a new rule from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The company, according to an Economic Times report, has updated two plans – Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 among others. Most prepaid plans currently bundle data with voice and SMS, which doesn’t cater to the needs of users with 2G phones or those using dual SIM setups. TRAI recently directed telecom operators to reintroduce only voice or SMS services. By offering plans focused on voice and SMS benefits, Airtel caters to this segment, providing more flexibility and affordability for users who don’t rely heavily on mobile data.
