Facebook parent Meta employees are said to be furious with changes in the company’s LGBTQ policy
Meta recently made controversial changes to its Hateful Conduct policy, raising concerns that the new guidelines will allow harmful content to thrive on its platforms. The tech giant has lifted restrictions on divisive and discriminatory rhetoric across its platforms – Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. The policy now permits users to engage in harmful speech, including calling gay individuals “mentally ill,” referring to women as “property,” and labeling entire ethnic groups as “diseases.”
Announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the policy change is aimed to promote “free expression” by reducing restrictions on controversial topics, including gender identity and sexuality. However, the development has sparked outrage within the company.
