About 99 pc of mobile handsets being used in India are domestically manufactured: MoS IT

New Delhi, Dec 18 (PTI) Around 99 per cent of mobile handsets being used in India are domestically manufactured, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada informed Parliament on Wednesday.

The domestic electronics production has grown multifold over the past decade, from ₹1,90,366 crore in FY2014-15 to ₹9,52,000 crore in FY 2023-24 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 17 per cent, he said.
