    Indian govt. deactivates 85 lakh mobile connections in crackdown on fraud and cybercrime: Details

    The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has disconnected over 85 lakh mobile connections to combat fraud and enhance security in the telecom sector. The disconnections include 78.33 lakh mobile connections that were obtained using fake documents, and an additional 6.78 lakh connections linked to cybercrime activities, following analysis based on an AI-based tool developed by the DoT.
