Uber introduces new safety features for women drivers, riders amid rising concerns

With the rising concerns of safe transit for women, Uber has announced a range of safety features designed to enhance the security of its riders and drivers in India, with a focus on addressing the concerns of women. The new initiatives include Audio Recording and a Women Rider Preferred feature, among others.

The company has introduced the Women Rider Preferred option, which allows women drivers to accept trips from only women riders. This feature, based on driver feedback, aims to support women drivers in prioritising safety, extending working hours, and increasing earnings.
