Delhi HC stays trial court proceedings against Chidambaram in Aircel-Maxis case

The Delhi High Court Wednesday stayed the trial court proceedings against Congress Rajya Sabha member P Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), following a petition moved by the former Union finance minister.

The petition challenges a 2021 trial court order taking cognisance of the ED’s chargesheet in the case even though the agency did not obtain sanction for prosecution.
