OpenAI makes ChatGPT desktop app for Windows available to free users

OpenAI launched the ChatGPT desktop app for Windows last month, but it was limited to those with an Education, Enterprise or Plus subscription. But in a recent post on X, the company announced that the ChatGPT app can is accessible to those on the free tier.

Similar to the web version of ChatGPT, the Windows app lets you ask anything questions, upload files, summarise text, access custom GPT and even generate images. The desktop version of ChatGPT even lets you access the Advanced Voice Mode, but it is limited to a few minutes per month for free users.
