Elderly lawyer duped of Rs 6 lakh by ‘London woman’ who messaged him on WhatsApp

An 83 year old lawyer from Mumbai was duped of over Rs 6 lakh by a ‘London-based woman’ who messaged him out of the blue on WhatsApp. After making multiple transactions, the complainant realised he had been duped and approached the local police station where an FIR has been registered in the case.

There has been a trend of cyber fraudsters targeting senior citizens using various modus operandi and duping them as they are vulnerable.
