Alphabet Inc beats sales estimates in Q3 results on Google Cloud growth

Alphabet Inc.’s cloud computing division led a better-than-expected third-quarter performance for the search giant on Tuesday, as the company’s embrace of artificial intelligence deepened and its core business weathered competition from new entrants.
Delivering healthy gains in both revenue and profit, Google did much to allay Wall Street concerns that the company has squandered its early lead in AI, and that its heavy investments to catch up to the likes of Microsoft Corp.
