Ambani calls for local storage of data, Birla says Vi turnaround round the corner

Reliance Jio chairman Akash Ambani on Tuesday pitched for local storage of data generated in the country and urged the government for updating the 2020 draft of the Data Centre Policy. “Indian data should remain in Indian Data Centres,” Ambani said at the inaugural session of India Mobile Congress. “Therefore, Indian companies ready to set up AI and machine learning data centres should get all necessary incentives, including incentives for power consumption,” he added.
