Amazon told to pay city resident Rs 40,325 ‘misused’ by hackers from her credit card

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Chandigarh has directed Amazon Retail India to pay Rs 58,000 to a city resident for not refunding her Rs 40,325, which was allegedly misused by hackers from her credit card online.

Samita Das of PGIMER, Sector 12, Chandigarh, alleged fraudsters hacked her mobile phone and consequently, her email ID and ICICI Bank Credit Card were also hacked and misused by the fraudsters on September 19, 2023, by placing orders online for the purchase of articles with Amazon Retail India, through her Amazon Account.
