Trai seeks suggestions on spectrum assignment for both fixed and mobile satellite services

The telecom regulator, Trai, on Friday released a consultation paper to determine the methodology and pricing for allocating spectrum to satellite companies providing communication services.

The decision will pave the way for satellite-based broadband services from companies such as SpaceX, OneWeb, and Jio Satellite Communications. These services could provide high-speed internet access to remote areas and underserved populations.
