Vodafone Idea inks $3.6 billion 4G, 5G network gear deal with Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson

NEW DELHI: Financially-struggling Vodafone Idea has concluded equipment procurement deals with South Korean Samsung, Finnish Nokia and Swedish Ericsson to transform and upgrade fourth-generation or 4G mobile network, and launch next-generation (5G)-backed services in select markets in a $3.6 billion deal for a three-year term.
