Impractical to implement new URL whitelisting norms: Telcos

New Delhi: India’s top telcos have told the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) they are unable to implement the regulator’s new mandate regarding whitelisting of URLs embedded in commercial messages. Officials told ET that the telcos have already communicated to Trai about the technical solution developed by them to whitelist short URLs, which was the most difficult part to implement.
