Netherlands fines Uber $324 million for breaking this 2018 EU law

The Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA) has imposed a 290 million euro ($324 million) fine on ride-hailing platform Uber for illegally transferring personal details of European drivers to the US. According to a report by the news agency AP, the decision alleges that Uber’s data transfers violated the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by failing to implement adequate safeguards.
