Startups see their AI bills shrink as global LLM price war escalates

Price wars among global AI companies and the rise in popularity of small size models from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic are enabling Indian startups to reap the benefits of decreasing cost of AI access.

OpenAI, last month announced its cheapest and most cost-efficient model GPT 4o Mini, priced at $0.15 per million input tokens. In response, Google, last week, made its Gemini 1.5 Flash model cheaper to GPT 4o Mini by 50% by pricing it at $0.075 per million input tokens.
