Olympic 2024: France’s biggest telecom companies fume as internet lines cut in latest attack

A series of coordinated attacks on France’s critical infrastructure has continued with the cutting of multiple fiber optic cables across the country overnight. While the incident did not disrupt broadband services in Paris or impact the ongoing Olympic Games, it marks the second such attack in as many days. The vandalism came after arson attacks hit train networks around France on Friday, hours before the Olympics opening ceremony.
