Microsoft CrowdStrike outage: How Apple’s much-criticised ecosystem may have saved Mac users

Microsoft Windows faced a global outage last week. The outage, caused by a faulty software update from security company CrowdStrike, hit 8.5 million Windows machines worldwide. The update was auto-installed on laptops/PCs running Windows versions 7.11 and above that were stuck in recovery loops, impacting airlines, retailers, banks, hospitals, rail networks, and other businesses around the globe.
