BSNL CMD Pravin Purwar exits, Robert Ravi takes interim charge

NEW DELHI: The Centre has appointed Robert Jerard Ravi, deputy director general, Standards, Research & Innovation at the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), as an interim chiarman-cum-managing director (CMD) of the state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

The tenure of outgoing BSNL CMD Pravin K Purwar could not be extended following an ongoing investigation where he was chargesheeted along with nearly 10 officials of the state-run telecom company in a 2022 cybersecurity tools purchase irregularity, a source told ETTelecom.
