Maharashtra gives in-principle approval for bike taxis

The state government’s Transport Commissioner’s Office granted in-principle approval for the operation of bike taxis, said Maharashtra transport commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar adding that a draft policy providing further clarity will be issued soon, particularly addressing whether bike taxis will be allowed in Mumbai.

An official notification inviting public suggestions and objections will be issued shortly.
