Bharti Airtel spends Rs 6,857 cr in 5G auction, secures spectrum for 20 years

Private telecom company Bharti Airtel acquired 97 MHz spectrum in key circles for 20 years for Rs 6,857 crore, it said in a stock exchange filing on Wednesday. Airtel likely spent the most among all telcos, as the government managed to mop up around Rs 11,300 crore from India’s second 5G spectrum sale.

Out of the overall purchase, Bharti Hexacom acquired 15 MHz with an outlay of Rs 1,001 crore.
