Android growth in emerging markets, 5G to spark 4% on-year rise in global smartphone shipments in 2024: IDC

NEW DELHI: Global smartphone shipments are forecasted to increase by 4% year-over-year to 1.21 billion units in 2024, fueled by Android growth, 5G-capable handsets, gradual rebound in consumer demand after a dismal performance in last few years, according to a recent report by the International Data Corporation (IDC).
