Intel teases Lunar Lake processors that power future Copilot+ PCs

Just after Microsoft announced its first set of Copilot+ PCs, powered by the Snapdragon X Elite/Plus processor, Intel has teased its Lunar Lake client processors said to power the AI personal computers starting from the third quarter of 2024, with over 80 designs from over 20 original equipment manufacturers.

The company is estimated to ship over 40 million artificial intelligence-powered PCs in 2024.

“With breakthrough power efficiency, the trusted compatibility of x86 architecture and the industry’s deepest catalogue of software enablement across the CPU, GPU and NPU, we will deliver the most competitive joint client hardware and software offering in our history with Lunar Lake and Copilot+,” wrote Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Intel executive vice-president and general manager of the Client Computing Group.
