US issues fresh guidelines for H-1B visa holders who have been laid off

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has introduced new guidelines for H-1B visa holders who have been terminated from their jobs, providing options beyond the 60-day grace period.
As per the USCIS release, when a nonimmigrant worker’s employment ends, either voluntarily or involuntarily, they typically may take one of the following actions, if eligible, to remain in a period of authorised stay in the United States:
