Calling Name Presentation

In a move to give respite from spam and fraudulent calls, Trai has come out with its recommendations on “Introduction of Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) Service in Indian Telecommunication Network”. Trai has recommended that telcos mandatorily provide caller identification services to its subscribers. The name identity information provided by the telephone subscriber in the Customer Application Form (CAF) should be used for the purpose of CNAP.
