ChatGPT for free: OpenAI’s AI chatbot works without any login now
You no longer need to login to use OpenAI’s ChatGPT AI chatbot. This means anybody can start using the free version of ChatGPT “instantly” without having to sign-up first.
“We’re rolling out the ability to start using ChatGPT instantly, without needing to sign-up, so it’s even easier to experience the potential of AI,” OpenAI made the announcement through a post on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.
OpenAI saw a drop in its traffic from the highs reached in May 2023 when the number of estimated visits crossed 1.8 billion. After ChatGPT first rolled out at the end of 2022, users had to sign up for an OpenAI account. It then added paid subscriptions for products such as DALL-E and other models.
OpenAI explained that it has added “additional content safeguards for this experience,” . Additionally the upgrade will also include blocking prompts for other range of categories, which OpenAI has not revealed. However, the option to choose the model training remains unchanged, even to users without accounts. It is believed that users can keep a track of their ChatGPT activity and can train OpenAI’s AI models.
The new upgrade will only be applied to ChatGPT. Furthermore, other OpenAI products, such as DALL-E 3 will stay under the paid section and will need an account for access. “We’re rolling this out gradually, with the aim to make AI accessible to anyone curious about its capabilities,” OpenAI highlighted.
